Guide: To Beginner Makeup!

BY DIVYANSHI PUNDHIR

Makeup is a really personal thing for me. I enjoy wearing makeup, but I am not a fan of heavy makeup looks. I battled a lot as a newbie to locate those essential products that I should start with. If you are struggling too, read along.

Before I start pointing out those five essential products that everyone should have, let me tell you something. Makeup is something that enhances your beauty rather than something that defines it. It is up to the individual to decide whether or not to use makeup. It’s all about you, not what other people think.

MOISTURIZER

Yes, there is a moisturizer! It is more of a skincare product than a makeup product. Once you have moisturizer on your vanity, believe me when I say it can make a huge difference in the way your makeup looks. A Moisturizer can be used as a primer to preserve your skin while also providing a smooth canvas for your makeup.

FOUNDATION

If you want to go all the way , your next best friend is foundation. When it comes to foundation, choosing the right shade is very important. If you get your undertone wrong then your makeup will look greyed out or will even oxidate. Once you have your foundation shade right, your next step is to make sure you choose the right product. This will depend on your skin type.

CONCEALER

A concealer is a colour corrector that is commonly used on blemishes and beneath the eyes. It conceals spots while blending them with your natural skin tone. It’s a flexible product that you can use for a variety of purposes. You could definitely get away without concealer if you like a more natural day-to-day appearance.

You do not always need to put on foundation by using a concealer you can look fresh and natural.

LIP BALM/LIPSTICK

A lip shade takes your look from basic to bomb in one step. If you are not into lipsticks then consider coloured lip balms. This is my personal preference. You can always use colourful lip balms and boom! even if you’re a student. You’re all set to rock. They provide both nourishment and the shade you choose for your lips.

MASCARA

Finally, but certainly not least, mascara. Liner and kajal can also help to define your eyes, but nothing beats mascara for a natural appearance. It takes less time and gives your lashes a lot of volume. We already have lovely lashes as brown ladies, but mascara can accentuate them.

You can use these items for starters. You’ll be good to go. Even a few items applied correctly could give your face a youthful and bright appearance.
