Pads and girls have a love and hate relationship. Girls hate wearing pads. Let’s be honest you can always see it with tight pants on . Not to mention the gooey yuckiness! But everytime Aunt Flo comes knocking – pads are our best friends. We spend oodles of money every year on pads unaware that the market has changed over the years. If I were to tell you there is a way to save an extra buck on a solution would you listen?
If yes, keeping reading gals and ignore that voice inside you: (POV of a pad) It doesn’t matter how much you hate wearing me, you still need me hahah!
MENSTRUAL CUPS

You must have heard about a menstrual cup. This cup is used during periods to collect your blood and it’s funnel shaped. There are way too many reasons why you should go for a menstrual cup over pads.
Can you swim while wearing a pad ?
No obviously! But you can swim while wearing a menstrual cup isn’t that great?
A menstrual cup lasts for 5-7 years so it’s a one time investment that saves your money. Most importantly it doesn’t feel uncomfortable or cause any irritation.
TAMPONS

After all the myths debunked on tampons stealing our virginity, let’s get to the point.
Another alternative for a sanitary napkin is a tampon. A tampon is small in size and inserted in vagina to soak period blood. But not for very long, as much as it easier to wear white pants now , you still need to change your tampon every 4 hours or more. Not changing it could lead to a long list of health problems.
And while it functions just like a pad and has to be changed like one too, you wonder what are its benefits. Honestly, it’s way more easy to pick up and go. It does not take a lot of space in your bag. If not for its size, consider its usability when doing other activities.
PERIOD PANTIES

Shocked and confused ?? It’s true period panties do exist. A period panty absorbs more than your regular pad or tampon. This means you are at lesser risk of having a leak mark on your favorite dress or pant. These are created for all those busy bodies who don’t normally follow their cycle too closely. Its for all those damsels in distress who forget their date and end up running around for a pad.
And they have their own perks as well. It feels like a normal underwear and it is great for when you travel. But most importantly, these panties are made to be environmentally friendly. So you are benefitting and also giving back to the environment at the same time.
Most menstrual products create tons of waste every year which is not biodegradable. Maybe we can change that together ?
While you still may feel apprehensive about these options, they are surely worth a try!
